Central Coast Moonterra Archers
Our Club
We are a friendly relaxed club that has been established for over 20 years.
We’re located on the Central Coast of NSW, just off the M1 past the twin servos at Jilliby. The club is a field archery range with 4 challenging ranges of 20 field targets per range, positioned amongst the creeks, hills and forest surrounding the clubhouse. Each range takes about 1 to 2 hours to get around, dependent on the group size.
If you just want to practice - we have an open field range with set targets from 10 to 60 metres, with a separate 20 metre static range where we can cater for all ages and all experience levels.
Moonterra Archers Club has a direct partnership with the NSW Forest Corporation, and the club range is located in a section of Olney State Forest! Want to see and do more in our State Forest? See the Forestry Corporation website link

A Guide For New Members
Safety
High visibility clothing is encouraged along with enclosed shoes.
You will encounter ticks and leaches on the property so the use of insect repellent is advisable.
Snakes are present so watch where you walk and use caution approaching target butts or searching for stray arrows.
Prior to shooting, check for other people down range (among the targets) who may be retrieving arrows. Also look along the shooting line to see if there are unattended bows / equipment that may indicate someone is down range.
When drawing your bow, keep the arrow horizontal. (Lifting your bow hand while you draw will send the arrow a long way in the event of a release aid failure).
If you’re heading out on the colour courses, please mark your name and time of departure on the black board. While on these courses, stay on the trail and only travel in the numerical order (don’t walk back).
If you observe any hazards please make them as safe as practicable and report them to a Committee Member.
Improving your skills
Moonterra is an informal club and doesn’t have the ability to offer formalised coaching. You can however gain a lot of useful advice by approaching other members.
Other Issues
Only the Range Captain can permanently move and alter targets and target butts. If you place anything on a target butt to shoot at please remove it when you are finished.
All water from tanks on the property is not suitable for drinking so bring plenty of water with you.
Please sign the Register every time you visit the Club (whether you’re shooting, for working bees or any other reason).
